The Benito Juárez City Hall announced the replacement of trees in Venados Park as part of a strategy to strengthen green spaces and ensure visitor safety. Mayor Luis Mendoza emphasized that creating safe and sustainable natural environments is a priority for his administration. "We care about building spaces that can be enjoyed by our neighbors," he affirmed. Removal of risky trees to prevent accidents As part of maintenance work, authorities removed 20 dead standing trees that were 15 to 20 meters tall, which posed a risk to those visiting this important urban lung of Mexico City. Reforestation with resistant species After the removal, the city hall will begin a restitution process with species such as Tronadora (Thevetia peruviana), Astronomica, and Tree Orchid, selected for their resistance to water stress and pollution, as well as having roots that do not affect urban infrastructure. The planting will be carried out during the rainy season to ensure the survival of the new specimens. Actions in compliance with environmental regulations Authorities stressed that these works are carried out in accordance with current environmental regulations, prioritizing the recovery of the urban tree cover without affecting the ecological balance. These actions are part of the environmental policy, which aims to conserve and improve public spaces, guaranteeing a greener, safer, and more sustainable environment for the population.
